Welcome to Art at GLOBE!

Hello, families!

Welcome to my blog for Art at GLOBE!

I will be using this blog to to let you know about our K-3 projects, brag about the amazing young artists we have, and give you information about upcoming projects (which may require certain items).

First off, I would like to take a minute to thank the amazing families and organizations that have donated to our burgeoning art program:

Bill Asp donated a brand-new art cart, and I must say, it is quite an improvement! This new cart is so much larger and sturdier, which means that now I can carry all of my materials at once. It is also magnetic, so I can post my art reproductions and examples directly on the cart! This cart definitely demands attention - you should see the kids' faces when I come into their rooms!

This is a picture of my old cart...

And here is the new one!

I would definitely call this an upgrade :)

You may notice the art reproductions on the cart. These were donated by the May family, and as you can see, I have already used quite a few of these as examples for my lessons!

Also, thanks to the Uetsukis for donating a gift card to Michaels! With this gift card I was able to purchase an assortment of yarn which allowed my 3rd grade students to make some gorgeous yarn paintings (I will post pictures soon!).

We now have watercolor paper and lovely acrylics from the Griffin family, and I can't wait to use them with the students!

Finally, a HUGE thank-you to The Rhame Family Foundation, who recently donated the funds to purchase a class set of 22 outdoor easels! Last week, some of my 3rd grade received a mini-lesson on how to use them, and the 2nd graders had a blast making art outside! I am so grateful for the support of The Rhame Family Foundation; this donation will give our students a chance to make outdoor art for many years to come!

Thank you for your kindness and support! More updates are on the way!

    2. Thanks for the suggestion, David! I used Dick Blick to purchase most of my materials, but I will definitely check them out!
